This is a classic example of a naturally processed Geisha. Finca La Fortuna is one of three farms that make up Cafe Grand del Val in Boquete, Panama. 

Microclimate is a key component of the special coffees from Boquete Panama. The country is an isthmus, and Boquete lies only 35 miles to both the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans, creating the country’s famous bajareque. This prominent mountain mist provides cool temperatures and consistent moisture throughout the year. Bajareque ensures ample moisture and slow fruit maturation to the coffees planted in fecund volcanic soil. La Fortuna is characterized by coffee fields surrounded and shaded by avocado trees and other native flora, providing further shade even during hot and dry periods.

This special geisha lot is processed using the Natural, fruit-dried method. Only the ripest cherries are harvested and then sorted and cleaned of debris before being sun-dried on raised beds for 20 days. During this period, the cherries are constantly turned to ensure even drying and minimize defects. The result is a delicious coffee displaying the terroir, variety, and processing. You will find notes of honey, jasmine, apple, and blueberry.
